The religious fascism ruling Iran turns sports stadium to execution field
Call to save the lives of 13 prisoners on death row
On Thursday September 22, coincident with the start of academic year, the inhuman clerical regime hanged an inmate in the Neyriz sports stadium in Fars Province (south Iran). This is a new step in crime and cruelty that the religious fascism ruling Iran has turned even sports stadium to execution fields. The Iranian resistance calls on all athletes in Iran and sports organizations and federations to condemn this inhumane behavior.
At the same time 13 prisoners in Gohardasht prison have been moved to solitary confinement for the implementation of anti-human death sentence. One of the convicts for more than 13 years, and others for many years, have been awaiting their execution in prison.
The Iranian resistance calls upon international human rights organizations, especially the UN Human Rights Commissioner, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran and the working group on arbitrary executions to take immediate action to save these prisoners.
Mass and arbitrary executions are a main part of the strategy of a regime that faces hatred and repugnance of the vast majority of the Iranian society. Silence about atrocities of such a regime is in stark contrast with the values and principles of universal human rights. Economic and political relations with this regime must be subject to a moratorium on executions.
