Internaional - Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee was taken back to Evin prison
after being apprehended by pasdaran (guardians of the revolution) while
on her way to the hospital to visit her husband, the defender of rights Arash Sadeghi, who is seriously ill. Since
January 3, she had been granted temporary permission to leave, pending
the judicial review by the Iranian Supreme Court of her imprisonment
sentence imposed for writing an unpublished fiction. The judicial review is delayed deliberately by the pasdaran.
"The
new arrest of Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee and the interference of the
pasdaran in the judicial process are only the last disturbing episode of
the arbitrary and unfair treatment of this couple of militants by the
authorities," said Philip Luther, director of research and Advocacy for the Middle East and North Africa to Amnesty International.
