Iran: Reaction to Murderous Judge in Raisi's Campaign Team; Unity of Human Rights Violators!

NCRI - The presence of Saeed Mortazavi at an election campaign event of Ebrahim Raisi in the city of Yazd, central Iran, gained widespread attention on social media.
Various social media channels in Yazd Province claimed Mortazavi had told reporters he supports Raisi’s candidacy, according to the official IRNA news agency.
“My dream is Raisi becoming president,” Mortazavi said, according to the Entekhab news website.
Negative reactions have reached the point that both Raisi’s campaign and Mortazavi have issued statements denying such comments, adding Mortazavi’s participation at the event was his own personal decision.
Mortazavi is one of the individuals blacklisted by the United States, alongside Revolutionary Guards chief Mohammad Ali Jafari and the regime’s then public prosecutor Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, for their role in human rights violations.
He is known for his role in the murder of Iranian-Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, and torturing, raping and killing those arrested during the 2009 uprising.
Raisi is mostly known for his membership in the notorious “Death Commission” back in 1988, presiding over the mass execution of thousands of political prisoners.
Raisi, along with Morteza Eshraghi (then public prosecutor), Hossein Ali Nayeri and Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi (Intelligence Ministry representative in Evin Prison), carried out an order issued by Iranian regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini to massacre all political dissidents, including members and supporters of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iran’s prisons.
A sound file was made public in 2016 of a meeting between Khomeini’s then successor Hossein Ali Montazeri with the Death Commission members, where he described the executions as “gravest crime of the Islamic Republic” and said history will remember them as “criminals”.
