Iran: Tehran’s prosecutor underlines mandatory veil as official policy
In a meeting on April 25 on the enforcement of the mandatory veil for women, Tehran's Prosecutor Jaafari Dolatabadi said, "Chastity and veil are our official policy. Considering that they are open and public issues, they need more attention."
Dolatabadi also noted the problem of street women and said, "It is not possible to round up street women only through the policy of confrontation… (Handling) moral and social issues takes time and since they are associated with people's spirit and minds, (the collection) can meet with resistance."
