INU - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the Iranian mullahs “wolves in sheep’s clothing” during an address to the Iranian-American community in Regan’s Library on July 22.
This description was met with approval from the audience, who know that there are no moderates in the Regime, no matter how polished President Hassan Rouhani and foreign minister Javad Zarif appear before politicians and news cameras.
In his speech, Pompeo addressed the growing problem of terrorism by the Regime, which recently culminated in a foiled bomb plot against the Iranian Resistance in Paris.
The Regime planned to bomb the Free Iran rally, attended by over 100,000 people, including many dignitaries from around the world, but thankfully their terrorist was caught before the attack could take place. This is the most recent attack, but it is far from uncommon. The Regime has left a trail of blood across Europe and the Middle East, according to Reza Shafiee from the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
The Regime is not only bloodthirsty enough to plans these attacks, but they’re also arrogant enough to do so when they are still trying to convince Europe to stay in the 2015 nuclear deal, which Donald Trump pulled out of in May.
How could these people be considered moderates? The only way to stop Iran’s destructive behaviour is to cut ties with them and join with the Iranian Resistance.
Shafiee wrote: “We are asking every nation who is sick and tired of the Islamic Republic’s destructive behaviour to join our pressure campaign. This especially goes for our allies in the Middle East and Europe, people who have themselves been terrorized by the violent regime’s activity for decades.”
The world must see the mullahs as the people of Iran do, as bloodthirsty thugs more concerned with profit and power than people. There are no moderates; only those who wear masks and those who don’t.
We can see this through Iran’s many threats against the US and US interests in the Middle East. No moderate would threaten terrorist attacks or close down key shipping lanes that would disrupt global oil trade or the “mother of all wars”.
It is clear that the US sees past this, with Trump warning Iran in an all-caps tweet to “NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE” and Pompeo likening the rulers to mob bosses.
All in all, the rest of the world should stand with the Iranian people and advocate for regime change.
Shafiee wrote: “Time has come for EU countries to uphold Iranian people’s hunger for a new and free nation. It no doubt benefits them in the long run.”
