Iran, October 26, 2020—Poverty is spreading across all of Iran and millions of people are suffering from the regime’s destructive policies. Bus drivers on strike in the city of Bushehr, southern Iran
In other reports of protests from Iran, on Sunday, October 25, piping and welding workers at the 13th and 14th phase of petroleum refining companies and the Tonbak export port, south of Iran, have gone on strike for several consecutive days protesting low wages.
The workers have been on strike for more than a week. In addition to the low salaries, they are protesting lack of Covid-19 protocols, as well as the authorities’ failure to fulfill their promises regarding the payment of their paychecks.
Fearing the continuation and spread of the strikes, officials and contractors have attempted to get workers back to work by making hollow promises to end the strike. However, the workers are emphasizing the strike will continue until their demands are fully met and have no trust in these promises.
On Saturday, those who passed the practical test of the Bojnourd fire department in northeast Iran, protested their job status remaining in limbo and local officials’ ignorance regarding their problems.

In Jahrom a group of contract municipality workers held a protest rally demanding their paychecks that have been delayed for the past three months.
In Ardakan, a group of locals protested officials issuing new permits to steel productions units. This gathering was held outside the local Majlis (parliament) member’s office in this city.
In Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari more than 1,000 expelled workers of the Barfab Company held yet another rally on Saturday, October 26, protesting their limbo employment and living conditions.
In the city of Ahar workers of a local road construction project leading to the neighboring city of Meshkinshahr went on strike once again demanding their delayed paychecks.
On Friday, October 23, farmers in the city of Kadkan held a rally protesting a severe decrease in the price of their saffron products. It is worth noting that the price of saffron in the past few days has reached its lowest ever and many farmers believe figures linked to the regime are seeking to profit from their work leaving them out of the profit that they deserve.
