NCRI - According to reports, on Thursday January 12, the political prisoner, Saeed Shirzad, on his 37th day of hunger strike in Gohardasht prison in Karaj suffered severe drop in blood pressure and loss of consciousness, and the prison officials were forced to transfer him to the one thousand beds hospital in Tehran.
The prison officials had tried to open the sewed lips of this political prisoner but his cellmate did not allow the officials to do it without his consent.
The reports indicate that the prison guards recorded the fingerprints of the prisoner on the sheet with unspecified content and his cellmates protest this action.
It should be noted that Saeed Shirzad has sewed his lips since December 7, 2016 and staged hunger strike to protest inhuman treatment of the prisoners and the pressures on them by prison officials.
The political prisoner, Saeed Shirzad, 28, was arrested on June 8, 2014 and held in Evin Prison’s ward 209 cells for two months incommunicado. He was later tried in the regime’s so-called courts 15 months after his arrest and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment on the charges of “assembly and collusion against national security.”
In response to the requests by a number of relatives of political prisoners and families of those executed to end his hunger strike, he wrote: “Let me continue this hunger strike and be the voice of imprisoned voiceless.”
