Iran: Protest Rallies Continue By Unemployed Youth And Workers In Provinces Of Khuzestan And Mazandaran

Apr 11, 2018-- Two separate protest rallies were held in Khuzestan and Mazandaran provinces on Tuesday, April 11th, by unemployed people in Iran. The gatherings were held by the unemployed youth of Zahiryah village and the expelled workers of the Jamnagar Printing House.
The unemployed youth in the village of Zuhiriyeh, Hawizah, in Khuzestan province, held their gatherings despite the presence of law enforcement agencies. Arab youth in this village have long been unemployed. They object to discrimination in the employment of indigenous people in oil companies adjacent to their villages. Oil companies refrain from recruiting native forces and often use non-native troops.
The workers of the Mazandaran jumbo magazine, which had been unemployed since the beginning of the year in 1997 after 13 years, protested. In April, the Jamnagar printing press closed down and all its workers were unemployed, and no legal and governmental authority is accountable to these workers. The workers gathered in front of the governorate in the city of Sari and dema
