Iran under sanctions for human rights violations

Iran under sanctions for human rights violations

Iran, June 2, 2018 - The U.S. Treasury Department has recently blacklisted six new individuals and three entities for their role in Iran’s crackdown and human rights violations.
The U.S. Congress had in the past slapped human rights sanctions on Iran. With these new measures, however, the U.S. administration is linking all the recently levied sanctions specifically to human rights violations, quelling and censorship.
To this day Western powers would not associate these subjects to their policy.
The Iranian people have time and again announced that the Iranian regime’s exporting of terrorism abroad is a cover for their domestic crackdown.
It is crucial to understand the relationship between the Revolutionary Guards IRGC) Quds Force operations against foreigners and what is being carried out by the IRGC against Iranians inside the country.
The intensification of these sanctions can be considered the U.S. administration’s decision to impose an all-out political and economic siege on the Iranian regime.
The U.S. Treasury Dept. has continuously imposed sanctions against Iran following U.S. President Donald Trump’s May 8th decision to exit the Iran nuclear deal.
  • May 10th: Sanctions against Iran’s currency network in the Middle East and associated banks
  • May 15th: Blacklisting the head of Iran’s Central Bank
  • May 16th: Blacklisting Hezbollah chief Hassan Nassrallah
  • May 18th: Blacklisting a senior Hezbollah finance chief & their representative in Iran
  • May 22nd: New sanctions against five IRGC commanders and elements involved in Iran’s ballistic missile drive, and sending missiles to Yemen
  • May 24th: Blacklisting nine individuals and entities for providing services to Iranian airlines
  • The latest sanctions have been related to human rights violations
Various countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, have also issued separate sanctions against the Iranian regime.
In Iran there no so-called civil entities that are not directly or indirectly involved in domestic crackdown. As Hitler’s propaganda apparatus was also no separate from his war machine, the same goes for the Iranian regime.
The regime’s state TV/radio (IRIB) and its cyberspace network are all directly linked to the state’s crackdown and human rights violations.
Sanctions on the IRIB would be crippling, banning it from any foreign services such as the use of satellite service. This prevents the ruling regime from easily advancing its propaganda machine of exporting a reactionary mentality and terrorism.
Those officials sanctioned recently, such as the heads of the IRIB, chair of the Supreme Cyberspace Council and the Ansarollah chief, no longer have the credibility to sign any contracts.
As a result, all these individuals who are now rich through their crackdown measures and plundering ordinary people’s money, and knowing they will be overthrown by the Iranian people and their organized resistance, are forced to place their money in banks, purchase lands or other assets. However, the new sanctions make these measures impossible.
Sanctions against the Ansarollah, known to be linked directly to Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei, is a severe blow to the latter.
The international neglect, mainly resulting from the appeasement policy with Iran, is ending. This is especially true after the Iranian people sacrificed more than 120,000 martyrs, and a major page turning following the Dec/Jan uprising.
Add to this list the revelations made by the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), especially the efforts of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President of the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the justice seeking movement. This leaves no room for any party to neglect the ongoing crimes in Iran.
These sanctions are without a doubt the beginning of a major initiative. This proves that the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance have been able to be the voice of the Iranian people and also have the world community acknowledge this reality.
The issue of human rights has now become a means to impose political pressure on Tehran’s mullahs, all on the path to bring down this regime.
