Foiling Iran’s terror plot prevented war: British MP

Sept. 15, 2018 - The Iranian regime saw its terror plot targeting an opposition rally in Paris back in June foiled, successfully preventing global conflict and even war, according to Conservative British MP Bob Blackman.
The event was attended by U.S. President Donald Trump lawyer/advisor Rudy Giuliani and former House speaker Newt Gingrich, among many others from America and across the globe.
The “Free Iran” conference, held by the Iranian opposition-in-exile National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), was targeted by a bomb plotthwarted by Belgian authorities who arrested an Iranian-Belgian couple carrying 500 grams of dangerous home-made explosives.
The two suspects, named as Amir S., 38, and Nasimeh N., 33, are accused by Belgian authorities with attempted terrorist murder and preparation of a terrorist attack. Those arrested also include an Iranian regime Vienna-based diplomat who faces charges of providing the bomb to the arrested couple.
An NCRI-hosted press conference in London on Wednesday shed new light on the bomb plot that targeted the Paris rally and Tehran’s terrorist activities throughout the Green Continent.
An NCRI report accuses Tehran’s hierarchy, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani, of green-lighting the recent Paris terrorist plan.
Rouhani chairs the Supreme National Security Council, responsible for planning such terror attacks, according to the NCRI report.
“According to specific information from within the regime, the decision to carry out the operations, including the attempted bombing of the Paris gathering, was taken in January 2018 in the Supreme National Security Council, headed by Hassan Rouhani,” the NCRI report reads.
Blackman, who also attended and spoke at the NCRI press conference, says he is providing assistance to Belgian authorities to realize a “successful prosecution” against those responsible in the Paris terror plot.
The NCRI is warning that the Iranian regime’s terrorist activities in Europe have “entered a new phase,” emphasizing attacks are decided at the “highest level” in a method that is “very different from the past”.
The British MP continued his remarks by warning if the Paris terror plot had been successful, Tehran would have found itself facing Europe alongside the United States, and even military action may have been considered against the mullahs’ regime after crossing such a red line.
Blackman called on London to follow the suit of Washington and withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.
