Iran: Mother raises voice in support of Atena Daemi
Mrs. Massoumeh Nemati, mother of the imprisoned civil rights activist Atena Daemi, paid a short visit to her in Evin Prison. In a brief post written after the meeting, she stressed on the need to attend to the demands of prisoners who are on hunger strike.
Mrs. Nemati wrote in her post, "I thought they would care for my daughter… I thought they would hear her voice that demands recognition of women's rights to choose their own clothes… But, no! No official listens to her… My daughter's life is in danger. Please be the voice of my daughter."
Atena Daemi, defenders of child laborers, has been on hunger strike since April 8, 2017, in protest to the jail sentences issued for her sisters.
