Iran’s reactions to US withdrawing from the nuclear deal is very telling

May 10, 2018-- Following the United States’ withdrawal from the highly flawed Iran nuclear deal, reactions from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, supreme leader Ali Khamenei, members of Iran’s parliament chanting “Death to America” while burning the American flag and documents representing the Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), all provide a very telling image of the intense crisis Tehran is now engulfed in.
“America’s rude and insulting president withdrew from the JCPOA in violation of international laws,” according to a parliamentary statement.
“I express my gratitude to my colleagues who torched the JCPOA,” said Iranian MP Nader Ghazipour.
“Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left the president’s office without responding to reporters,” according to the Fars news agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
A number of IRGC Basij paramilitary members rallied outside Tehran’s Azadi Square setting fire to the JCPOA & American flag while chanting, “Our demand in one word, torch the JCPOA.”
IRGC chief Mohammad Ali Jafari, concerned about the near and distant future, provided an interesting input.
“It is quite obvious that the Europeans cannot independently choose between Iran and the U.S., as they are dependent to the U.S. The JCPOA’s fate is quite clear,” he said.
Zarif, in shock of the recent developments, desperately said Iran will be discussing the possibility of continuing the JCPOA cooperation with other accord members.
Rouhani has ordered the Foreign Ministry to carry out the necessary cooperation and negotiations with the European, Russia and China in the coming weeks. All the while, figures close and loyal to Khamenei are emphasizing there is no use for Iran’s regime to remain loyal to the JCPOA.
All said and done, the Iranian regime understands best how it is the only party suffering deeply in the light of such unprecedented developments.
Khamenei, the man with the last word in this regime, has vividly expressed his distrust in the European Troika.
While there is word that France, Germany and the United Kingdom are seeking methods aimed at safeguarding the JCPOA, it is quite obvious that no country in the world will choose to tolerate heavy consequences imposed by U.S. sanctions for the sake of maintaining relations with Iran’s economy.
The French BNP Paribas international banking group suffered a whopping $8.9 billion fine for violating U.S. sanctions. And this goes back to the Obama administration. Rest assured the Trump administration has drastic measures in store for the Iranian regime.
As talks further about Iran’s future, the best viable solution lies in standing alongside the Iranian people’s by supporting an intact regime change policy represented by the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
The Iranian people have shown time and again they completely loath this ruling regime and the Middle East will never experience peace and security as long as Tehran’s mullahs are sitting on the throne.
The reactions seen from inside the Iranian regime following the U.S. withdrawal from the JCPOA, and mentions of this policy evolving into regime change, has Iran’s rulers on their toes. Imposing sanctions aimed at crippling the regime and all its entities inside the country and abroad will pave the path of supporting the Iranian people and their legitimate resistance seeking regime change.
