The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Monday as 486 new deaths and 13,053 new cases in the past 24 hours, along with 5677 patients being in ICUs, all three categories representing unprecedented numbers.

The Covid-19 catastrophe is expanding with each passing day in Iran and regime experts and officials are requesting an immediate and full two-week lockdown of the entire country, especially the Iranian capital Tehran. However, regime President Hassan Rouhani once has turned down such an initiative and issued an eight-article statement on Sunday saying: “The comprehensive plan to address coronavirus was adopted in the National Covid-19 Task Force, under which severe restrictions will be mandatory in various cities starting next week.”

All the while, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli held a meeting with senior health officials made a ridiculous comment. “We must never under any circumstances have engineered numbers or secret stats. We are talking about people’s lives here!” he said on Monday. “Health Minister Saied Namaki makes decisions based on your numbers. Do not provide fewer [coronavirus] death numbers. If the number of fatalities and new cases have increased and you need anything, raise your voice,” he added, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

The state-run Salamat News website quoted Massoud Mardani, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force, as saying on Monday, “We are currently at the peak of coronavirus and the situation is very critical. Hospitals that admitted coronavirus patients have no room for new patients. Today, the situation demands urgent action. There must be a serious action or a public shutdown. Economic excuses must give way to priorities for improving the healthcare situation of different segments of the society. There must be an agreement to shut down big cities for at least three weeks. We suggested the lockdown two weeks ago and repeated it several times, but regretfully, due to opposition from some, it has remained unresolved.”

Nahid Khodakarami, member of the Tehran City Council, said on Monday, “Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, 19,239 people have died of Covid-19 in Tehran. The economic situation of most of the deceased was lower than average.” (Source: Fars News Agency, November 16)

In Fars province, the deputy-dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University confirmed 39 Covid-19 deaths on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency. “The total number of coronavirus deaths in Fars has reached 1,989. We currently have 1,813 hospitalized coronavirus patients in Fars. There are 352 patients in ICU sections and under special care,” the deputy-dean added.

In Ilam province, the head of the Medical Council said, “The orders of the Covid-19 Task Force are not effective in reducing the number of cases. These orders only exist on paper and have no result for the patients. Therefore issuing them is of no use. The only way to prevent the spread of coronavirus is to rethink the prevention system, public cooperation, and immediate lockdown of the province.” (Source: Tasnim News Agency, November 16)
