“In Ahvaz we are still seeing this illness in high flames. We are concerned about the northern and eastern parts of Khuzestan province,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Monday, according to state TV.
“The number of new cases in Khuzestan province is on the rise and conditions are very difficult in the southwest parts of this province,” said the deputy dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.
“At least 80 percent of the country’s daily death toll is from Khuzestan province while the provincial population is less than six percent of the country’s entire population,” according to a Tuesday piece published in the state-run Etemad daily. “Why should we say the entire population of Khuzestan province will be vaccinated while we all know how the country’s vaccination process is proceeding. These hollow promises will only increase distrust among the people.”
“The number of UK strain cases in the town of Saggez Abad is equal to the city of Tehran,” said the governor of Qazvin province on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“The earthquake-hit city of Sisakht has gone from an earthquake to a Covid-19 crisis. The number of new cases has increased significantly and if the status quo is not controlled we will become a red zone area,” said the mayor of Dana in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad province on Tuesday, according to the state-run Roydad24 website.
“The number of Covid-19 deaths in Ardabil have increased four-fold and currently the total number of hospitalized patients in this province stands at 145, of which 45 are in ICUs,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“Yesterday another 27 individuals were registered to have contracted the UK strain and the total number of such cases in Hormozgan province has reached 114,” said the spokesperson of the Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency.
