“Based on the latest statistics we have 143 red zone cities, 186 orange and 119 yellow zones. There are no blue zone cities,” according to a statement on Friday by the Health Ministry.
“In March 2020, with quick instructions issued by the Supreme Leader to allocate one billion euros to the health apparatus. A large portion of this credit has yet to be provided,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Thursday, according to the state-run Aftab News website, after 15 months.
“To this day only 1.2 percent of the population has received two doses of the vaccine, whereas the global average is 17.2 percent. The elderly and those ill are waiting in lines and in poor hygiene conditions, leaving them even more vulnerable,” said Mostafa Moein, a former minister of sciences on Friday, according to the state-run Jamaran website

An ICU specialist made the following remarks to Namaki: You placed the entire Iranian population and the all the physicians in “disgrace and you must be prosecuted. You knew nothing about Covid-19 and do not know anything now, either. There is no other health minister in the world that, like Namaki, has not taken the time to ask the ICU personnel what is the reason behind so many coronavirus deaths,” according to a Thursday piece in the Khabar Fouri website.
“5600 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in [Tehran] province, with nearly 2000 of them in ICUs. Yesterday we had a meeting with heads of various hospitals and placed them all on high alert,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“[Sistan & Baluchistan] province is in critical conditions. Ten to twelve percent of the country’s reported deaths due to coronavirus are in Sistan & Baluchistan province. We have 1600 new cases each day,” said the deputy dean of Azad Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the state-run ISCA news outlet.
In Yazd province the spokesperson of the local Medical Sciences University said the number of new case are rising, adding 760 people are hospitalized, of which 122 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours we have hospitalized 175 coronavirus patients,” this official said on Thursday, according to the regime’s official IRIB news agency.
With 202 new patients hospitalized for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the total number of coronavirus patients in Mazandaran province hospitalized stands at 1027, with 167 in ICUs, according to a Thursday report wired by the regime’s official IRIB news agency.
