NCRI - 12 Sardasht citizens charged with disrupting public order and disobeying the law enforcement forces were sentenced to one year’ imprisonment by the regime’s court in the city. They were also sentenced to pay the blood money for their involvement in assaulting and injuring law enforcement forces.
It should be noted that the sentences are related to a gathering held by a group of people in Sardasht to protest against the death of Farinaz Khosravani in Mahabad’s Tara Hotel. To avoid being sexually assaulted by an intelligence officer, Farinaz Khosravani threw herself from a window in the fourth floor of Mahabad’s Tara Hotel on May 9, 2015, and died instantly. Following her forced suicide, a group of Sardasht people held a rally to condemn Khosravani’s death, during which at least 12 protesters were arrested by the law enforcement forces.
