NCRI - Sunni political prisoners of Gohardasht prison in Western Tehran issued a statement calling for immediate release of two civil and women rights activists, political prisoners Narges Mohammadi and Atena Daemi.
In their statement, the political prisoners stated: “The issue will not end by imprisoning Ms. Narges Mohammadi and Ms. Atena Daemi but others will follow them and sing the anthem of freedom and defend the rights of oppressed people. Therefore, we Sunni political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, who have been the greatest victims of human rights violations following execution of 25 of our comrades overnight in Gohardasht prison, demand immediate and unconditional release and freedom of Ms. Narges Mohammadi and Ms. Atena Daemi. We believe that these people, who work wholeheartedly for improvement of human life and realization of their rights, do not belong in prison but they should be awarded with Nobel Prize of pride and honor.
