Iran: Assal Esmailzadeh arrested
Assal Ismaielzadeh, a photojournalist, was arrested on June 19, 2017, at Tehran’s Prosecutor’s Office while accompanying her husband.
Ms. Ismailzadeh is the wife of Saied Seif, a journalist and media activist, who runs the state-run Dideban Iran website.
Seif told the press, “Despite the fact that I was the one charged in a case, yesterday when my wife and I went to the prosecutor’s office, the judge ordered the arrest of my wife, Assal Ismaielzadeh.”
