KABUL (Pajhwok): Three
Afghan nationals were killed after Iranian security forces
opened fire at their vehicle in Yazd province on Friday, reports said.
However, the Afghan Embassy in Tehran quoted Iranian sources
said the deaths resulted from a car accident due to high speed.
The embassy said the Afghan
consulate in the province had started its investigation into the incident.
The embassy told the BCC that
one of the surviving Afghan nationals said Iran police opened
fire at their vehicle which caught fire.
The vehicle carried 13 Afghan
nationals and three of them were killed and several others wounded in the
police firing.
The Iranian media
reported that three people were killed and eight others wounded in the
incident.
It comes amid an ongoing joint
investigation of Afghanistan and Iran into the
alleged killing of 20 Afghans by Iranian security guards last
month.
