NCRI - Hamidreza Baqai, a disqualified candidate in Iran’s presidential election and a former Iranian vice president, called for general mourning after the disqualification of former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“We were, and are, all soldiers of [Iranian regime founder Ruhollah] Khomeini and will not betray his path. We will maintain our anger in our hearts,” he added on Telegram, a social media platform popular in Iran.
“We will not support any of the six candidates whose candidacy has been acknowledged,” Baqai added.
“I congratulate the Guardian Council for succumbing to the threats of the ‘nobles’ (referring to those officials who called for Ahmadinejad’s disqualification),” he continued.
