The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Tuesday as 17,430 new cases for the first time since the pandemic began, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency. This is 25 percent more than the 14,051 cases reported on November 27 of last year being the highest such figure during Iran’s third peak. “The spread of Covid-19 in our country has been very expansive and concerning. The fourth peak of this illness is advancing at a high speed and spreading from the western parts of the country to the east,” she added.

“Next week will be an extremely difficult week in Tehran. The recent experience in Khuzestan with the mutated strain will repeat in the country’s capital,” said Alireza Zali following the emergency session of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday. “The number of hospitalized coronavirus patients has reached 4400 in this province and 1120, meaning around 25 percent, are in ICUs. In the past 14 months there has never been such a record registered in Tehran province. This is a concerning sign for the coming days. One in every two suspicious patients have a positive PCR test. If we take into consideration the false negative results, the true figure goes even higher. Unfortunately, yesterday we lost 56 Tehran residents to Covid-19. We have had coronavirus deaths in nearly all parts of Tehran. We are suggesting a seven-to-ten-day lockdown of Tehran province and we have placed this plan before the First Vice President, and the Interior and Health ministers,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
