Iran: Protest Gatherings in Different Cities and Strata

NCRI - On Wednesday October 26, various strata of Iranian society staged protest gatherings in various cities in Iran including Mahshahr, Ahvaz, Khorramabad and Mashhad.
In Mahshahr (southern Iran), staff of petrochemical technology in the city continued their sit-in protest in the company on Wednesday 26th of November for the fifth consecutive day. The petrochemical workers are protesting against the poor state of salaries and the unjust directives issued against them.
In Ahvaz (southwestern Iran), those who passed the examination for employment in the executive bodies in Khuzestan for the year of 2012, held a protest gathering on Wednesday November 26 in front of the government building in Ahvaz. They protest their not being absorbed in the departments’ offices and demanded their formal employment.
In Khorramabad (western Iran), green space laborers of the city’s 3rd District Municipality held a protest gathering in front of the City Council on Wednesday November 26. The deprived workers of the Municipality were protesting non-payment of their several months delayed salaries.
In Mashhad(north eastern Iran), a group of environmental activists held a rally on Wednesday November 26 in front of the Department of Environment in the city to protest issuing the hunting permits to hunters including but not limited to excessive and unauthorized licensing.
